With mere weeks left before the November 5 elections to decide the duo that will lead the United States for another half-a-decade, the Democratic and the Republican vice presidential candidates are meeting for a live debate hosted by CBS News.
Vice presidential candidates Tim Walz and JD Vance are facing off in a live debate days after their running mates Democratic presidential pick Kamala Harris and her Republican rival Donald Trump took part in their debate.
Walz, Kamala Harris’s pick to be her running mate, has had a long run in politics but has often remained under the radar, until now. Walz gained national attention after being announced as Harris’ running mate in the upcoming election, which promises to be pivotal for the nation’s future.
JD Vance, the author of “Hillbilly Elegy”, and a recent addition to the US Senate in 2022 will be going up against Walz
The 90-minute match-up is being broadcast from the CBS News studio in New York City, and as with the previous presidential debates, doesn’t feature a live crowd. Neither candidate is allowed to carry notes and will be given 2 minutes each to answer questions or respond to a remark. One-minute rebuttals are also allowed and moderators are free to provide more if they deem it necessary.
The 2024 US elections will be held on November 5.
